WoW in Iraq

Hola,

This is my first attempt ever at blogging so... I don't really know where to go with it. So I decided to do it on the latency issues I have for the fact Burning crusade came out while I'm deployed so it bugs the hell outta me that I can't Experience it the way it was ment to be experienced.

I've been addicted to this game for the last 2 years. I was introduced to this game shortly after coming back from a previous deployment where my only previous online gaming experience was with America's Army.
This is also my first MMORPG and I love it... when the Internet doesn't blow.

Well I can tell you this, going from playing whenever I wanted to(after work and on weekends and such), to playing only after a 12-16 hour work day and lagging my way through the new content with the little time available. IT SUCKS.
I've been to lotsa places with different kinds of Internet from drop lines to wireless, free to hourly, daily, weekly, monthly fees.
Best latency I've had was around 600ms which was GREAT and the worst... trust me you don't want to know but I will say this 4 digits has been the norm for latency but it has been up to 6 digits. I know somebody who happens along this blog and reads this will be thinking to themselves "How in the hell would he play with that kind of latency?" At times it's really not bad... Trust me when you go from 2500ms to 1200 ms you would have sworn you just got up linked to T2 and are the best gamer in the world... however, when it goes from 900ms to 392### ms it really sucks! Usually in these cases I'll wait a few minutes to see if it improves if not I go rack out cause with that kinda latency there's no point.

It's crazy cause when I was back home my average is around 250ms on Laughing skull and when it spikes to 600ms it feels like the end of the world.

Anybody else out there experience these kinda things?
